Jimmi Simpson is an accomplished actor who has emerged as one of young Hollywood's most prolific and talented writers and directors.

Simpson’s character in the pilot Breakout Kings, directed by Gavin Hood, scored higher than any character has ever tested at 20th TV. However, Simpson is most widely recognized as David Letterman’s beloved "Lyle the Intern" on Late Night with David Letterman. Rounding out his TV career, he has had recurring roles on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, My Name Is Earl, Psych, Party Down, Carnivale and 24.

Simpson was seen in the feature film Date Night opposite comedic geniuses Tina Fey and Steve Carrell, and in the Ricky Gervais film, The Invention of Lying.

In 2008, Simpson played the title role of Philo T. Farnsworth opposite Hank Azaria in the Aaron Sorkin-scripted and Steven Spielberg-produced production of The Farnsworth Invention on Broadway. His performance earned him the prestigious Theatre World Award.

An avid student of film and television, Simpson has had the good fortune of working with and learning from some of the most accomplished filmmakers in Hollywood including Steven Spielberg, Aaron Sorkin, Pete Berg, David Fincher, Ricky Gervais, Amy Heckerling and Shawn Levy.

Simpson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film from Bloomburg College and was a member of the prestigious Williamstown Theatre Company before relocating to Los Angeles in 2003. His theatre credits include roles in Tartuffe, Atom and Devorah, and Slap’em Down. In addition, Simpson has performed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare for Century Center.
